POSITION SUMMARY:
Constance Lake First Nation is seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator/ Laborer to support our Public Works operations. This full-time permanent position is essential in ensuring the safe and ef􀏐icient operation of heavy machinery for community maintenance and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Public Works Manager.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of a valid Ontario Class DZ driver's licence (AZ preferred) with a clean driving record.
• At least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or public works setting.
• Must provide a recent driver’s abstract upon hire.
• Valid First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Physically fit and capable of lifting 50–70 lbs regularly.
• Must be willing to work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Indigenous community infrastructure or remote area work considered an asset.
• Criminal record check required
• Commitment to workplace safety; drug testing may apply in certain situations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee housing program, staff and budgets
• Plan and execute housing renovation projects
• Manage and implement preventive maintenance programs
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Engage with the community and stakeholders
• Maintain existing housing infrastructure and support sustainable development
• Secure funding and manage resources to uphold quality and safety standards.
