JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR MANAGER

The Town of Hearst Non-Profit Housing Corporation is seeking an energetic, motivated, reliable, resourceful and self-disciplined individual for the position of Manager of the Corporation and its assets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Corporation’s properties (St. Paul’s Court, Place Lambert, Place Charbonneau, Brisson Boulevard fourplexes, Maison Henri Lepan, Gamelin Apartments, Maison Renaissance) to maintain a state of cleanliness and good repair; arrange for all building repairs; be proactive in establishing a maintenance schedule and property restoration schedule both short and long term; purchase equipment as required
  • Supervise employees of the Corporation; prepare a proper payroll and maintain employee files; prepare all required returns
  • Receive and review applications for housing (both market rent and rent-geared-to-income) to determine eligibility for housing in consultation with the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB); prepare and keep current rent rolls for the properties; collect and receive rent monies; collect rent arrears and carry out such actions necessary to recover unpaid rents and/or possession of the leased properties
  • Maintain a waiting list for tenants; verify tenant incomes at least annually and calculate rents; supervise tenants moving in and out of premises; prepare and maintain records of tenants and leases
  • Carry out and maintain accurate accounts and records of all financial transactions on behalf of the Corporation; prepare and submit reports, including annual budgets, as required by the Corporation and CDSSAB
  • Comple accounts payable and receivable
  • Be present during regular business hours and be on call outside of such hours as may be required providing clerical services and execute directives as approved by the Board
  • Comply with the rental policies of the Corporation and CDSSAB, acting as “landlord” on behalf of the Corporation
  • Maintain the Corporation’s computer system and electronic files

Required Skills:

  • University or college degree in accounting or business administration
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the domain
  • Relevant experience in property management and/or business management
  • Be autonomous and self-directed with good planning and organizational skills
  • Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills as well as good oral and written communication skills
  • Be computer savvy
  • Have a personal vehicle for use in this position, which will be compensated for by the Corporation

Salary:

Base annual salary of $72, 000 may be adjusted commensurate with the qualification and experience of the successful candidate. A benefit package is available.
