Position Summary:
The Wellness Strategy Coordinator focuses on supporting a Community Wellness Strategy aimed at helping all Constance Lake Community Members' health and well-being. A primary objective is working with all departments to deliver culturally appropriate resources and services to adequately fulfil the needs of the individual and/or family. They shall work in conjunction with all Constance Lake First Nation departments and staff, other health, mental health professionals and organizations, including treatment programs and resources to create better linkages of support for community members. Special focus on drug/alcohol addiction prevention, intervention and rehabilitations. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Grade 12, a degree or diploma in Communication, Social Studies, Health Sciences or a combination of work experience;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning, implementing, communicating, promoting and evaluating wellness programs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong facilitation skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Organized;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Non-judgmental attitude and ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding;
  • Passion for making a positive impact in communities and promoting healthy lifestyles;
  • Well established computer knowledge and skills;
  • WHMIS, First Aid & CPR Certification;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is a asset;
  • Must be fluent in English, fluent in Cree/Ojibway is an asset.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and facilitates cross functional meetings to achieve and implement a Community Wellness Strategy;
  • Liaise and collaborate with all CLFN departments to improve the accessibility of health and wellness programs in Constance Lake First Nation;
  • Collaborate with all departments to develop processes using existing and new tools, resources and methodologies to help increase community awareness and the use of community health and wellness services;
  • Create an easily accessible, holistic system to help community members access health and wellness services;
  • Assumes the role of "ambassador" for community health and wellness;
  •  Gather, analyses, and reports on data and metrics to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of wellness strategies and programs;
  • Recommends and develops wellness-related policies and procedures;
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
