Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions during assigned school-day periods. Hours are casual and scheduled as required according to operational needs and individual availability.

Flexible Scheduling

Interested individuals may indicate which of the required periods they are available to cover. Availability for every period is not required.

The Town of Hearst is seeking one or more casual Crossing Guards to help meet an immediate staffing need. Coverage is required during the following periods on school days: 8:10 a.m. to 9:10 a.m., 11:20 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. One individual may cover all periods, or the hours may be shared among several individuals based on availability. This is an as-required arrangement, and the Town will work with interested individuals to establish a suitable schedule.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual, with availability for one or more of the required time periods.
• Able to communicate clearly and remain attentive while assisting pedestrians.
• Able to work independently and follow established safety procedures.
